About me

My name is Andrey Bochkarev. I am a photographer in Tallinn. I love cinematic frames where the subject separates from the background with a gentle blur, so I prefer fast prime lenses with fixed focal lengths. This requires changing lenses throughout the session, but I believe the result is worth it.

I like frames with a level horizon, symmetry, rhythms and visual rhymes, converging perspective lines, and balanced central compositions.

If your sense of aesthetics matches mine, you will likely enjoy directors such as the Coen brothers (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, 2018 and True Grit, 2010) and Wes Anderson (Moonrise Kingdom, 2012 and The Grand Budapest Hotel, 2014).
